Network Galway The Organisation for Women in Business, The Professions and The Arts

As President for 2012, I am delighted to welcome you to our Network Galway Website. I am honoured to be taking up the office for the coming year and it promises to be a busy and an exciting one.

Whether you are the owner of an established business, just starting out or working for an employer, Network Galway can help you develop your career and promote your business locally and nationally. As an organisation, we pride ourselves on offering a mixture of formal and informal networking events. These can range from formal business meetings covering topics of interest and relevance to today’s business women to fun events which this year will revolve around the Volvo Ocean Race. These events give you the opportunity to chat informally and strengthen your personal relationships with fellow members. Our aim is to provide a platform for women who wish to develop their careers both professionally and personally.

The theme of Network Galway for 2012 is “In Helping Others, We Help Ourselves.” For your networking to work you need to always have your fellow members in mind when recommending somebody and in turn your members will recommend you. Networking is the most powerful way to get through these tough times and supporting Network members will ensure we all have a busy and productive year.

Our chosen charity for the year is ‘Hand in Hand’, a local based charity which provides the families of children with cancer with much needed practical support. All monies made during the year via raffles etc will be donated to Hand in Hand.

Our Annual Network Galway ‘Women in Business Awards’ will be held in May of this year. The Award categories are as follows, Employee, Self-Employed, New Business, President’s Award and Business Woman of the Year Award. The winner’s will of the Employee Award, Self-Employed Award & New Business Award will proceed to the National Finals which will take place in October 2012.

If you are not a member and would like to come along to a meeting or event, please contact myself or a Committee member and we will be delighted to welcome you along.

We meet on the first Wednesday of every month at 6.30pm, where our meetings will commence sharply at 7pm. Venues and guest speakers will be announced in our weekly emails.

I am thoroughly looking forward to my year as President and am looking forward to meeting you all during the year at our various meetings and events.
